Port of Katapola (Amorgos)

This is what sailors experienced: Found a spot at the quay, right alongside the larger and smaller ferries. However, the anchorage was quite crowded, making it a bit of a challenge to get the anchor salad.

Nisida Nikourian Southern Beach

This is what sailors experienced: Beautiful spot with a lovely beach. Plenty of depth right up to the rocks, making it easy to get close and tie off. Great shelter from northerly winds, although a bit rolly so a stern line is essential.

Aegiali Marina / Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced: This is a stunning bay! We anchored outside the port and found excellent holding in sand. The water is crystal clear, and there’s a charming little town with markets and restaurants. The sandy beach is a real bonus.

Levrossos Beach

This is what sailors experienced: Found excellent shelter in this bay with 6m of sand and 40m of chain out. The NW winds were howling outside, but we found some swell still coming in. The beach looks absolutely stunning – definitely worth exploring!

Mouros Beach

This is what sailors experienced: Excellent anchorage with crystal-clear water and a sandy bottom. Perfect Meltemi hiding spot, with 15-20 knots while it was blowing 45-50 offshore. Note that the bottom is deeper than shows, so anchor closer to the beach.

Kalotaritissa Beach

This is what sailors experienced: Great anchorage with plenty of depth for anchoring and parking, crystal-clear water, and a small beach. Excellent holding in clean sand, but it gets busy with local boats. Very nice spot!

Gramvoussa Beach

This is what sailors experienced: Cute little bay, protected from swell, but with lots of wind shifts. The bottom is soft sand with grass patches. Be careful of fishing lines with baskets marked with a small fender.

Gramvoussa Northern Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced: This spot is ideal for tying stern-to, offering great protection and easy access to the water for snorkeling

Kato Kampos Bay

This is what sailors experienced: Kato Kampos beach provides decent protection from southerly winds. Anchoring isn’t easy, with a predominantly flat stone slab and limited sand. A perfect retreat for those who want to listen to the sounds of nature undisturbed.
