Naxos Anchorage

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a lively hub, offering easy access to the town. We loved the free stay and the stunning view of Apollo! While the ferries are constant throughout the day, they do stop at nigh. It’s not exactly peaceful, but a fantastic location to experience the town’s energy.

Baths of Ariadne Anchorage

Apollonas Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: We enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing night on anchor in this bay (at 5 meters). The calm conditions allowed for an overnight stay, which wouldn’t be possible with wind from the North or Northwest as the bay is exposed.

Azala Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a pleasant option when the wind blows from the south or southwest. We’ve anchored here comfortably in 20 knots of southerly winds! Anchoring close to the cliffs (with swing room) or using a stern tie can provide great protection from the south wind. The sandy bottom offers good holding in 5 to 8 meters, though there is some seagrass present.

Moutsouna Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a great anchorage with good holding in the sand. We felt calm and safe despite 25 knots of wind from the WNW, though it’s worth noting that the wind inside the bay is about 5 knots stronger than outside.

Paralia Panormos

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This bay is idyllic! It provides exceptional shelter from northerly to northwesterly winds up to 20 knots, with no swell. The crystal clear waters and lovely sandy beach make it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.

Spedo Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a charming little bay with a mostly sandy bottom and excellent holding. It’s unclear how protected it would be with a strong Meltemi. The highlight is the lovely, newly restored church on the hilltop, which offers stunning views and is well worth the walk.

Rhina Cave

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This bay has a perfect sandy bottom for anchoring. During the day, tourist boats come to swim in the grotto, but after 6:30 PM, you’ll have this small, wild bay all to yourself. It’s incredibly sheltered, with superb, crystal-clear water, making it a perfect escape.
