This is what sailors experienced: The main port is quite compact, offering limited space. Within the west dock, there’s room for two sailboats, but maneuvering the inner boat out can be tricky due to the shallow bottom. You can also dock on the outside of the dock, marked by a red light, but be aware of some swell – it’s not dangerous, but it can be a bit uncomfortable. The ferries don’t create any disruptive waves, so they won’t be a problem.

This is what sailors experienced: This lovely bay offers excellent protection from the Meltemi, making it a perfect halfway stop between Kyra Panagia and Lesbos. The beautiful surroundings add to its charm. Anchoring in the middle of the bay reveals a sandy bottom with a large area between 7m and 4m deep. However, if the wind shifts to the North, be aware of potential swell coming into the bay.

This is what sailors experienced: The bay is predominantly sandy with excellent holding. We dropped anchor in 4.6 meters, enjoying calm conditions with no wind or swell. There was plenty of space for another yacht. The crystal clear waters made for fantastic swimming and snorkeling.
