This anchorage is truly magnificent, with excellent holding in the sand. Be aware that the bottom slopes down quickly, so be sure to leave ample room for swinging. Avoid anchoring directly in front of the beach, as there’s an underwater barrier of rocks. Otherwise, it’s a breathtaking lunar landscape.

This anchorage provides excellent protection from the meltemi wind and generally from northerly to southeasterly directions. It’s a secluded spot with a desolate feel. In the center, you’ll find a sandy bottom with good holding. The bay is a bit narrow, so be mindful of your surroundings.

We dropped anchor in 5 meters of water. The bottom transitions to all sand at around 8 meters. The south side of the anchorage offers a sandy beach, while the rest of the area is a mix of pebbles and sand. Conveniently, there are some trees in the middle for shade from the scorching sun.

This anchorage offers excellent protection from the meltemi wind, and boasts a good sandy bottom. However, be mindful of a sudden drop in depth – at 280 meters from the beach, the water depth reaches 5 meters. We chose to anchor in the northern part, 150 meters from the beach, in 3.5 meters of water. The beach is pebbly and bears the marks of winter storms, but still holds a certain charm.

This anchorage is a real gem. Go inside, staying in the middle and following the large sandy patch. Drop your anchor in 4-5 meters of water, where you’ll find good holding. It’s a very peaceful spot, and in the evening we even saw a group of 5 deer wandering on the hill!

This anchorage is not ideal for those seeking shelter from the wind. With 10-12 knots, it becomes uncomfortable and offers minimal protection. Additionally, there are numerous rocks near the surface, making entry into the bay hazardous. Despite this, the bottom is sandy, and I found a suitable spot at 5.5 meters depth.

This anchorage provided a convenient overnight stop on our journey to the Sporades. We found secure anchoring in the sand at 6 meters with 60 meters of chain, given the prediction of strong gusts. Closer to shore, there were patches of sand interspersed with rock.

This anchorage proved to be surprisingly resilient during a period of 20-knot winds with 40-knot gusts, with our anchor holding firm. However, it offers little protection from northerly winds, and the terrain might actually amplify them. The wide bay does provide good protection from swells.

The surrounding landscape is wild and rugged, offering a sense of seclusion. The beach is sparsely populated during the day, and the water is crystal clear, perfect for a refreshing swim.

This anchorage provides excellent protection from southwesterly winds, but is less sheltered from other directions. The atmosphere here is truly otherworldly, with only the occasional seagull and a fisherman laying his nets in the evening as company. The sandy bottom offers perfect holding at depths ranging from 2 to 6 meters. You’ll find nothing here but pure tranquility and the beauty of nature.

Entering this bay, navigate from the north and stay in the center to avoid shallow waters. The bay’s center offers a large area with depths around 12-15 meters. For anchoring, head towards the southeastern corner and drop anchor in 4-5 meters of depth, ensuring a safe distance from the submerged rocks. While Navionics’ map is fairly accurate, the bottom is primarily seagrass, making it challenging to find a good patch of sand.

This anchorage offers good protection from all directions except east and south. The bottom is mostly seaweed with a few sandy patches. Be sure to carefully check the chart and your depth sounder upon arrival, as the bottom rises can be sudden and potentially hazardous. We experienced calm conditions, so it was hard to assess how well it would hold up in a strong meltemi with significant swell.
