Northern Anchorage

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is best enjoyed in calm conditions, with no wind. Anchor on the rocky bottom at 7-8 meters, ensuring you have plenty of chain. The surrounding scenery is absolutely stunning, with crystal clear waters. It’s a perfect spot for a tranquil escape in good weather.

Fisherman's Quay

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This dock is primarily used by small fishing boats and features a charming open shack with a fireplace for outdoor barbecues. Be cautious of the seabed a few meters from the dock, as the depth drops quickly to less than two meters. Anchoring and securing lines at the dock can be challenging, making it difficult for more than a couple of boats. We recommend using English mooring for a more secure and comfortable stay.

T.M. Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This small bay offers a delightful anchorage. I dropped anchor at 7 meters to port, just before reaching the pontoon, finding a comfortable spot with moorings ashore. The small beach and hiking trail add to the charm, making it a very pleasant spot.

Paralia Agios Dimitrios (Opt-1)

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: There are a few sandy patches in this area where you can drop anchor for a quick lunch break.

Paralia Agios Dimitrios (Opt-2)

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is only recommended in calm weather conditions. If the wind blows from the north, it can become quite strong in the channel. You’ll be forced to anchor very close to the beach in less than 12 meters of depth to find protection.

Paralia Glifa

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage, while not particularly scenic, is conveniently located on the edge of the beach and offers easy access to the nearby small port. You can reach the port by dinghy, rounding the headland, or by walking, placing your dinghy on the beach. Both options are very quick and convenient.

Steni Vala

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This charming spot is a real gem! The locals are incredibly friendly, and the town offers a great selection of amenities, from a supermarket and bakery to restaurants serving delicious food. While mooring can be a bit tricky due to rocks in some areas, we found it easy to find a spot. Just remember to keep a little distance from the quay. We experienced some swell in the late afternoon, causing a bit of rolling, but it subsided overnight. Overall, this is a highly recommended anchorage. Even if the wall is full, there’s plenty of room across the bay to tie your stern to the rocks.

Petros Beach(Opt-1)

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This bay is a stunning beauty, offering excellent anchorage. Reaching the tavernas of Stení Vála by dinghy is a breeze. However, be mindful of chains in the southeastern part of the bay, directly in front of the rock! A little caution will ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay.

Petros Beach(Opt-2)

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This small cove is a perfect spot for swimming and enjoying a delicious meal. However, it’s not ideal for overnight stays. Anchor in the sandy patches at 6-8 meters depth, being aware of algae spots and the surrounding stones. A small pebble beach provides a picturesque backdrop. For the best hold, aim for a spot at 6-8 meters depth near the end of the cove.

Leftos Gialos Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This beautiful beach boasts two restaurants and a lively atmosphere, attracting a large crowd of tourists arriving by sea or road for the day. With comfortable lounge chairs and a bar-like ambiance, it’s a great spot to soak up the sun and enjoy the energy. Anchoring is easy, but be aware of the swell, which can make for an uncomfortable night. Reaching the beach, restaurants, and other amenities is a breeze with your dinghy.

Tzortzi Gialos Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: We enjoyed a peaceful and unforgettable night in the south bay in mid-June. The bay was ours for the taking, and we even had the pleasure of spotting two caretta turtles in the distance! It was a truly magical experience.

Kokkinokastro Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This charming little bay boasts breathtaking red cliffs and excellent anchorage, especially in calm conditions. The clear water is perfect for a refreshing swim, and the friendly staff at the beach bar offer basic food and a warm welcome.

Paralia Chrisi Milia

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a dream come true, with crystal clear waters teeming with fish. However, be aware that the Coast Guard may ask you to anchor outside the 200-meter zone or moor at the buoys in the morning. It’s best to be prepared for this possibility.

Milia Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: Nestled amidst a scenic backdrop of conifers and rocky shores, this bay offers a secure anchorage. Drop anchor in the sandy and rocky seabed at depths ranging from 5 to 8 meters. The western cliffs provide excellent protection from southwest to northeast winds, promising a peaceful stay. While some swell may enter the bay when the meltem blows, it’s manageable and shouldn’t disrupt your enjoyment.

Kanoni Lakakia Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This bay is a beautiful spot for a relaxing lunch break. We anchored in a sandy spot at 7 meters, enjoying the calm and tranquil atmosphere with only 2-3 foot swells. There are 9 mooring buoys present, but it’s unclear whether they are private or public.

Paralia Votsi

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage offers a straightforward anchoring experience in shallow waters, around 4 meters deep, with a sandy seabed. While anchoring is easy, boaters recommend using lines for added security and a better hold.

Paralia Rousoum Gialos

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This bay is truly picturesque, offering a delightful experience in the right weather conditions. However, we found that a northerly wind brought in a large swell, making for an uncomfortable second night. We decided to leave at daybreak. There are rubbish bins on the jetty near the fishing boats, which is a convenient touch.
