To discover the specific locations of these peaceful anchorages, consult your charts and local guides. Remember to respect the environment, anchor responsibly, and enjoy the unique beauty of these secluded spots.

Paralia Glisteri

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
This quiet anchorage near Skopelos Town is a hidden gem for those seeking a peaceful overnight stay. We anchored just before the buoy line with a gentle southerly wind and enjoyed the calm of this secluded spot. The sandy bottom provided excellent holding, giving us peace of mind throughout the night. The swimming was great, and the water, although slightly polluted (a common issue around Skopelos), was still clear enough to see plenty of fish.

Agios Ioannis Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This bay is a beautiful spot for a daytime visit, but be cautious of the rocks. While Navionics charts show rocks at 10-15 meters, I actually encountered dangerous rocks at only 2-3 meters depth, very close to the beach.

Spilia Beach

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
This anchorage is a true gem, one of the most beautiful we encountered during our 15-day trip through the Sporades and Athos! However, it’s crucial to remember that it’s only suitable for calm weather conditions. The entrance is quite narrow, making it unsuitable for larger monohulls, but if you’re sailing a smaller boat and the weather is calm, this anchorage is an absolute must-visit. Just be sure to take the necessary precautions and enjoy the beauty of this exceptional spot!

Narrow Access: The entrance is quite narrow, making it unsuitable for larger monohulls.
The bottom is predominantly stone, but we found a small sandy patch slightly to starboard towards the exit.
Due to the rocky bottom and potential swell, it’s absolutely essential to secure mooring lines ashore. We used four lines (front and back) for extra stability.
Despite occasional swell from passing ferries, the small islet at the entrance provides a decent level of protection.

Paralia Mavraki

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
This is a fantastic spot when the wind is favorable, but be mindful of the hidden dangers!
The anchorage is ideal when the wind is blowing from a direction other than north, as it is exposed to that direction.
a sandy bottom at 8 meters, providing good anchor holding.
Hidden Rocks: Be extremely cautious when approaching the beach, as large boulders, not marked on map, are located about 20 meters from shore.
This anchorage offers a great escape when the wind is right, but it’s crucial to exercise caution and be aware of the unmarked hazards near the beach.

Loutraki Port

Marina

This is what sailors experienced:
The Sail Aigean mooring is a great option in Glossa! It’s well-maintained, with clean showers, electricity, and water all included for €30. Just be aware that there are also municipal mooring fees of €5.10 per day, which apply even on arrival and departure days. The walk up to Old Glossa is a bit of a workout, but the views from the top are totally worth it! It’s a great way to enjoy the beauty of Glossa.

Paralia Karkatzouna

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
This anchorage is a great choice for a quick swim stop, especially when the wind is blowing from the northwest.
Ideal for a quick swim stop.
The anchor was set at 5 meters depth in a mixture of seagrass and sand, right at the edge of a 1-meter high break-off.
There’s sufficient space and depth to anchor safely, with a good distance from the beach.
It’s crucial to ensure the anchor is securely set in the sand, as the reviewer notes. This is a convenient and enjoyable spot for a short stop when the wind is favorable.

Neo Klima Dock

Dock

This is what sailors experienced:
This harbour is a gem! It’s clean and spacious, with room for around 15 sailboats. Right next door is a beautiful sandy beach, perfect for swimming or just soaking up the sun. The quay has water and electricity, and there are 3 supermarkets nearby for stocking up on supplies. You can also easily catch a bus to Loutraki and Skaphylos. With all these conveniences and the lovely surroundings, it’s definitely a place where you could easily spend a couple of days or more!
