Tinos Marina

Marina

This is what sailors experienced:
Our stay at the marina was delightful. We were welcomed with friendly assistance over the phone and effortlessly moored. Two nights were enough to explore the island.

Platia Ammos Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: I spent two days anchored at the northwest corner, weathering a strong meltemi with gusts topping 50 knots. Despite the intense wind, the anchorage provided excellent protection and a sandy bottom free of algae. The holding was excellent. While the gusts were powerful, I noticed that a spot a few hundred meters further south, in front of the hotel, seemed even more sheltered.

Paralia Agios Romanos

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: We anchored here for a night. The beach was still bring readied for the season so there were no buoys to mark the swimming area. We dropped the anchor on sand at around 5M and it dug in immediately.

Paralia Kantani

Ormou Lsternias

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: I found good holding in sand at 4 meters depth. The shore offers a nice selection of tavernas, making it easy to enjoy a delicious meal after a day of sailing. While there were some shifting winds overnight and some swell, as others have mentioned, it was all within acceptable limits. I anchored with 50 meters of chain in 5-6 Bft winds and felt secure.

Paralia Agia Thalassa

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a lovely, peaceful spot, although it was quite busy with people on the beach during August. The anchorage offers excellent protection from the Meltemi, but I had a couple of instances where my anchor didn’t hold well, despite the sandy/muddy bottom. I even checked with a mask to confirm. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend anchoring by Fort Meltemi, even with the good protection it offers.

Main Bay Panormos Tinos

Marina
This is what sailors experienced: It took a couple of tries, maneuvering through the mooring buoys and seagrass to find a patch of sand to anchor, but it was worth it! After we settled in, it was all good fun. This place is just so lovely!

Kolimvithra Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: The bay opens up to a large sandy beach, perfect for swimming and sunbathing. The bottom is sandy, but the holding isn’t the best. The bay offers little protection from a northerly wind. However, on the left side, there’s a larger, more sheltered bay. This area has a sandy bottom, making it a good spot to anchor with easy beach access using a tender.

Warehouses Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a fantastic anchorage! The little beach bar is a real gem. It’s just a quick swim to shore, and you can enjoy a refreshing drink or a hot coffee. Definitely worth a visit.

Paralia Livada

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: We arrived late at night in pitch black, but the bay’s size made us feel secure. Despite the southerly winds outside blowing 20+ knots, inside the bay the wind dropped to a gentle 10 knots. There was no swell either. We found perfect grip in the sand at 8 meters, a bit further out than what the picture shows.

Agali Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: We anchored at 6 meters with 60 meters of chain and found perfect holding, even in a 40-knot Meltemi!
