Western Anchorage (opt. 1)

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
This charming bay offers excellent protection from northerly to south-easterly winds, making it a haven for boaters seeking shelter. The middle of the bay is quite deep, primarily featuring a mix of seaweed and rocky patches. However, as you approach the shore, you’ll find sandy pockets perfect for dropping anchor and enjoying a relaxing lunch or a refreshing swim.
Overall, this bay is a delightful spot to spend a few hours or even a night if you’re prepared for the overnight requirements.

Vrachonisida Prasso

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
This tiny, secluded anchorage is a gem for those seeking a peaceful retreat. With room for just two boats, it offers an intimate and tranquil setting. The bay provides excellent shelter from northerly winds, and its sandy bottom offers firm holding. The clear, clean water is perfect for swimming or simply enjoying the peace and quiet.

Western Anchorage (opt. 2)

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
This expansive, wild bay is a great option for those seeking a large, open anchoring space. While lacking any particular charms, it offers ample room and a sandy bottom that provides good holding, particularly in calmer conditions. Strong winds, however, may require a shore line for added security.

Western Anchorage (opt. 3)

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
This bay is a true gem! We had the entire island practically to ourselves on August 22nd, sharing it with only one other boat. The holding was perfect, and the bay provided excellent protection from northerly winds, keeping the waves out entirely. It’s a secluded haven for those seeking peace and tranquility.

SW Anchorage

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: We enjoyed a two-hour break in this bay, dropping anchor in 7 meters of sand at a comfortable 45-meter chain length. While the bay doesn’t offer protection from southerly winds, we found it perfectly comfortable with a southwest wind at 8 knots. The water was crystal clear and teeming with fishing boats, adding a lively touch to the scene. We were well-prepared, having purchased both boat and crew tickets online the evening before, making for a smooth and hassle-free experience.

Skandzoura Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This beach is hands down the most stunning we’ve encountered in our two months in Greece. The water is crystal clear, and the sand is perfectly pristine. Even the rocks are beautiful, polished marble, adding to the natural splendor of the place. The highlight, however, is the playful fish that swim right up to you, nibbling at your legs, completely unafraid of humans. It’s a testament to the power of protected areas, and it’s truly a must-see for any visitor to Greece.
