While Lipsi offers numerous options for mooring, seeking true protection from northerly winds requires venturing inside the harbour. Here, the close confines and potential for side winds make anchoring a bit more challenging, with anchors and chains likely crossing as you maneuver for the perfect spot. While both sides of the harbour experience some chop, the outer areas are significantly less comfortable. Despite these minor sailing nuances, Lipsi remains an idyllic escape, retaining its charming, uncrowded, and delightfully untouristic character.

Lientou Beach

This is what sailors experienced: This sheltered bay offers excellent holding in depths of 8-10m, making it a reliable haven for anchoring. The sandy bottom just north of the beach provides a particularly good anchoring spot. While generally calm, the bay experiences persistent wind in meltemi conditions, so be prepared for potential gusts.

Kámpos Beach

This is what sailors experienced: This spot presents a challenge for anchoring. While you can find patches of sand in depths of 5-8m, the presence of frequent gusts from multiple directions makes for less than ideal holding conditions. You’ll need to be vigilant and prepared to adjust your anchor position as the wind shifts.

Eléni Beach

This is what sailors experienced: A perfectly pleasant spot! You’ve found a sandy bottom at a comfortable 7m and managed to anchor securely. It may not be anything extraordinary, but a good, solid anchor in a decent spot is always a welcome sight. Enjoy your time there!

Lipsi NW Bay

This is what sailors experienced: The narrow bay, coupled with a secure anchor on 13m of chain with two lines ashore, ensures a peaceful and stable stay. Enjoy the serene beauty of the bay and the extra security your setup provides.

Saint Theologos Church Bay

This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage offers a peaceful haven shielded from both northerly and southerly winds. Unfortunately, the bottom is cluttered with debris, chains, and mooring buoys, making anchoring a bit of a challenge and potentially impacting the quality of your stay. You’ll need to be cautious and selective when choosing your anchor spot.

Platis Gialos Beach

This is what sailors experienced:The combination of a well-holding anchor in the sand, the beautiful bay’s crystal-clear waters, a lovely sandy beach, and a taverna ashore creates a perfect recipe for a memorable stay. Even though the bay is open, the comfort and beauty of the anchorage more than make up for it.

Aspronisi Island

This is what sailors experienced:The This spectacular little beach with white pebbles nestled between two rock formations is a true gem! While it’s only suitable for a daytime stop in good weather due to its lack of protection, the beauty of the spot is undeniable. However, be warned: the bottom is littered with boulders & rocks, so choose your anchor spot carefully to avoid getting caught. We anchored in the northern part in 9m on a mix of boulders and some medium-sized rocks. Despite the challenging bottom, the scenery is well worth the effort!

Chochlakoùra Beach

This sounds like a truly fantastic anchorage! The wide, safe bay with its excellent white sand bottom and superb holding. Anchoring in 5m even during strong 25 knot NE to NW winds and still finding it comfortable speaks volumes about the quality of this spot. The slight swell from the north wasn’t even an issue, adding to its appeal. Highly recommend this anchorage indeed!

Limni Beach

This is what sailors experienced: We enjoyed in this well-sheltered anchorage, dropping anchor in about 6m of water with 50m of chain. Despite facing up to 35 knots of northerly and northwesterly winds, we felt secure and comfortable thanks to the excellent protection provided by the bay.

Katsadiá Beach

This is what sailors experienced: We found a secure spot in 8m of water, where our anchor held firmly. While the wind remained relatively weak during our stay, it consistently blew from the southwest.

Pougki Beach

This is what sailors experienced: We found a great spot to drop anchor in 4-5m of water on a nice patch of sand, where it held firmly. There are good patches of sand in the area, so a little searching will reward you with a secure anchorage.

Piato Island

This is what sailors experienced: This spot offers a comfortable mooring option in good weather, with a sandy bottom at a convenient 5m depth.

Makronisi Kasou Island

This is what sailors experienced: A great spot for swimming and diving, especially into the cave. The water depth is up to 10m near the rocks, with a sandy bottom and some stones present at the edge.
