Patmos Anchorages Overview

Sakala Port

Port
This is what sailors experienced: While the municipal port is generally affordable, be prepared for a bit of sticker shock when it comes to electricity & water. And if you thought you were in the clear, a new “service” has cropped up – someone’s now charging €5 or more just for mooring lines!

To Kyma Bay

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a gem! Anchoring in 5m of sand provides a peaceful setting, close enough to the city for convenience but far enough for tranquility. The only downside is a slight swell from the fast ferries, which might be noticeable at times.

Paralia Meli

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a real beauty, with stunning scenery to match. You can even get creative with your anchoring, using your anchor and rope to tie to the nearby rock. Just be careful – it’s very sharp! While it’s a superb anchorage that holds well in fine weather, remember to find a sandy patch to anchor in for the best hold.

Paralia Agriolivado

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a winner! The anchor held strong, even in winds exceeding 29 knots, after dropping it at a depth of 5m, right near the edge of the buoyed swimming area.

Paralia Kampos

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This bay is a picture-perfect paradise! The crystal-clear water is irresistible, and the sandy bottom with patches of seagrass adds to the beauty. Anchor holding is excellent, making it a worry-free spot to drop anchor and enjoy the tranquility.

Paralia Vagia

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This cove is a haven of peace! Anchor holding is excellent in the sand at around 5 meters. It’s a nice, protected cove, perfect for a relaxing stay.

Paralia Livadi South

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a true sanctuary! It’s a peaceful and safe spot, with a mostly sandy bottom that offers excellent anchor holding.

Paralia Panagia Geranou

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: The anchor dug in deep here, including the shaft, showing excellent sand holding. Anchoring at 7m, on a bottom of sand & seagrass, provides a secure and peaceful spot.

Paralia Lampi

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This little anchorage is a gem, especially when the southerly winds blow. We found a sandy spot at 7m, leaving 35m of chain out. Avoiding the grassy areas ensures a good hold. It’s a great spot for shelter from those south winds!

Paralia Livadi North

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This bay is a breathtaking beauty, offering a peaceful retreat and a stunning sunset view. Though narrow, the bay stays deep until you approach the beach, making it easy to find a spot. The clear water reveals sandy patches at 7m, making anchoring a breeze.

Paralia Merika

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This bay offers a peaceful escape. Anchor holding is good at 10m on a sandy spot, making it a calm and secure place to drop anchor.

Paralia Kouvari

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: While the first pebble beach rises quickly, along with the rest of the seabed, anchor holding is a bit of a mixed bag here. Posidonia meadows create average holding, but you can find good sand patches to anchor in.

Paralia Diakofti

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This eastern cove offers a mooring spot at 6m, on a bottom of sand & seagrass. Ppay attention to your anchor and chain.

Paralia Psili

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This beach is a true hidden gem, often considered one of the most beautiful in all of Greece. Its pristine white sand and turquoise water create a picture-perfect scene. The fact that it’s not easily accessible by land keeps the crowds away, making it a truly secluded paradise.

Tragonisi Island South

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This small, sandy beach is a real beauty, with a tranquil and inviting atmosphere. Anchoring on the sandy/seagrass bottom provides a secure spot to enjoy this idyllic setting.

Rock of Kalikatsou

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
We found a peaceful haven on a buoy managed by Christos. You can reach him at +306974812761. This spot offers a much more tranquil experience compared to the bustling Skala.

Gryllokambos Bay

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This small cove nestled next to Gryllokambos is a gem, especially when those northerly winds pick up. It’s well protected, making it a haven for peace and quiet. We used landlines to secure our vessel, finding it a secure and convenient option.
