Anchoring was a bit like a Greek dance – a few steps forward, a few steps back, and a final triumphant pose! We eventually found our footing (or rather, our anchor’s footing) at 7 meters depth, tucked away on the right side of the bay where the sand was eager to embrace us. With the boat secure, we reveled in the tranquility of our private oasis, far from the madding crowds and rocking waves.

The anchorage is truly stunning, but be aware of the wind’s playful nature! While we enjoyed the scenery despite the 20+ knot northwesterly winds, the southern opening of the bay allowed gusts to swirl in, making for a livelier experience than we initially expected. No swell, though, so we decided to stay put. We found a snug spot in the left corner, securing lines ashore for added protection. Space is limited, so this anchorage is best enjoyed with just one boat, unless the wind decides to take a vacation.

This anchorage offers a unique experience beneath a dramatic cliff face. A grotto at the base adds to the intrigue, but be cautious of the numerous underwater boulders. The seabed is a mix of seaweed beds and pebbles, requiring careful anchoring. We anchored at 11 meters depth with 50 meters of chain and secured two lines ashore for added security. Due to the potential for challenging conditions, this anchorage is recommended for calm weather situations.

The location was absolutely breathtaking. It took us a couple of attempts to get the anchor to hold, but we eventually managed without needing lines ashore. We soaked in the stunning views of the rocky landscape and the seagulls soaring overhead. Despite the remote feel, we had surprisingly good 4G coverage. Our only company were the seagulls, a lone fisherman, and the distant roar of jet skis from the next bay over. Blissfully, there were no wasps or mosquitos to contend with. The seabed dropped off quite sharply, meaning the water gets deep quickly unless you’re very close to the rocks.

The bay itself was stunning, and we were met by the resident swimming pigs as we arrived. We anchored northwest in 20m depth with 80m of chain.
