However, the walk along the beach south from the port is a lovely escape. The sticky mud bottom provides excellent anchor hold, so you can relax knowing your boat is secure.

Karathonas Bay

The grassy sandy bottom sounds pleasant, and it’s good to know the music is generally quiet. However, it’s unfortunate about the tractor boats. Vrakhonisis Daskaleio

This sounds like a reliable spot for anchoring, offering good protection from westerly, northerly, and easterly winds! It’s great that the anchor holds well, and the sand patches mixed with seagrass provide a variety of bottom types. We have anchored here on 9m instead of indicated 5m.

Romvi Beach

It’s a good idea to use a med mooring if you’re not the only boat there. Also, the seaweed build-up on your chain is something to keep in mind! It’s good to know about those challenges, so you can plan accordingly.

Tolo Harbour

a charming little harbour! It’s always nice to find a quiet spot with a few boats nestled at the entrance of a larger bay. I can imagine the peaceful atmosphere there.

Vrachonisis Koronissou

This is what sailors experienced: That sounds like a great spot! It’s always reassuring to have good anchor hold, especially with 40 meters of chain. And the view of the small island adds to the charm. Plus, being close enough to Tolo by dinghy is a definite bonus.

Kastraki Beach

The bottom slopes gently, so you can choose a depth that suits your boat. We found a comfortable spot at 8 meters.

Vivario Playground

This is what sailors experienced: This is a hidden gem! We found a great anchorage about a kilometer to the right of the village, in front of a closed hotel. It was a peaceful spot with a clear bottom (8-10m) and excellent holding in sand. The bay is well protected from all sides, especially from the north. I highly recommend it for those seeking a quiet escape, as it’s likely to be crowded during the summer. There’s also a decent playground nearby with a good variety of games for kids, located right on a shallow beach. Perfect for families with little ones!

Psili Island

This is what sailors experienced: This is a lovely bay for a quick lunch stop or a refreshing swim, but it’s best to check the weather before heading in as it’s quite open. The bottom is sandy, but there are some rocks closer to shore, so it’s best to approach with caution. There is a small landing area, but it’s not really suitable for walking around.
