Paros Island Anchorages Overview

Paros Port

Marina
This is what sailors experienced: While the marina offers a vibrant atmosphere, especially on weekends, be aware that Fridays and Saturdays are reserved for charter boats. If arriving without a reservation, you might encounter a less-than-welcoming reception. The outer quay can be challenging in northerly winds, so consider anchoring in the bay, which provides a more comfortable and peaceful experience. Ferries do generate swells, but they are more of a nuisance than a hazard.

Cabana Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a real gem! We dropped anchor in 14 meters and secured lines ashore. The feeling of peace and isolation was amazing, with excellent protection from north, east, and west winds.

Krios Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage truly delivers on its promise of protection! We found ourselves comfortably sheltered from yesterday’s 40-knot northerly winds. It’s a quick 10-minute dinghy ride to Parikia, making it a convenient spot to access the town’s amenities.

Paros Park SW Bay

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a great spot for a daytime stay, offering plenty of clear space. However, be mindful of the submerged rocks and allow ample room for your boat.

Katholiko Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a dream come true! Plenty of space, we dropped anchor in 6.5 meters of sand and felt secure. The beach bar is a welcome addition, and the rock park offers stunning walks with its unique eroded formations.

Kalamia Beach Southern Anchorage

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a gem! The sand bottom provides excellent holding, and with a depth of 3 meters, it’s a perfect spot to drop anchor and enjoy the surroundings.

Agia Kali

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
This bay offers a tranquil escape, typically enjoyed in peace and quiet. While there are occasional fun boats with their water toys, they usually keep things within reasonable limits. The advantages of this anchorage definitely outweigh these minor inconveniences.
Just be aware of the stone slabs located at around 7 meters. Aim for a depth of 5-6 meters to avoid them. Even if the sun is good, you can still enjoy a clear view.

Kolympethres Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This bay is a real winner! We dropped anchor in 6 meters and had no issues with holding. The beach is right there, perfect for our dog to run and swim. It’s amazing how much space there is, even with a good number of boats already anchored. The taxi boat doesn’t cause much movement in the water, and the crystal-clear water is fantastic for swimming. Highly recommend!
