Piperi Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a winner! It’s perfectly located right next to the town and marina (currently free, as it’s not managed). You’ll be spoilt for choice with the abundance of fantastic restaurants and bars, and the town itself is charming. The sandy bottom offers good holding at around 6 meters. The only downside is the rolling swell that enters the bay, which can be a bit annoying for overnight stays.

Agioi Anargyroi Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a beautiful and peaceful bay, offering excellent protection. The sandy beach, maintained by the hotels, adds to its charm. The anchor holds well in the 3m sandy bottom, but space is limited due to the shallow depth and buoys marking local boat areas. The beach is easily accessible by dinghy, making it perfect for a quick swim or a leisurely stroll.

Plage Siparos

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage offers a calm and peaceful setting with good holding. However, be sure to anchor a good distance from shore, as the water is shallow for a long stretch due to designated swimming areas. A dinghy pier located in front of the restaurant makes it easy to access the shore.

Paralia Laggeri

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage proved to be an excellent refuge from the Meltem! Despite 35 knots of wind, we enjoyed flat seas inside the bay. The swell on the outside of Cape Paros was significant, but once we rounded the cape and entered the anchorage, it calmed down nicely.

Platia Ammos Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This bay is a beauty! While it gets a lot of tourist boat traffic during the day, it becomes peaceful and quiet at night. The sandy bottom provides excellent anchor holding. You’ll find areas of seagrass that are clearly visible and easy to avoid.

Megali Glastra

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
There’s a hidden hazard in the middle of this bay: a concrete block on the seabed with three heavy chains attached. Two chains support a large anchor, while the third chain connects to a buoy that floats just below the surface. This buoy can be difficult to spot in rough seas, so exercise extreme caution when anchoring in this area.

Santa Maria Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage offers a peaceful escape, though there are occasional water sports activities. The rocky bottom, with protruding slabs, requires careful anchoring in around 4.5 meters of depth. The crystal-clear water can make it tricky to spot the rocks, so be sure to check carefully. Some swell from distant ferries can also be an issue. Despite these minor drawbacks, the stunning sunset and the fact that it’s the only anchorage further north on the beach make it a worthwhile spot.

Filizi Island West

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This small bay offers a peaceful anchorage in 7 meters of sand. It’s a great spot to enjoy lunch and take an underwater walk to the nearby islet.

Molos Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage in front of the small church to the north is a real gem! With 3 meters of depth and excellent holding, it offers a peaceful and beautiful setting. The clear water is a delight, and we enjoyed a very quiet night with no wind.

Kalogeros Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage offers good protection from northerly winds, thanks to the sandy bottom. However, the wind tends to wrap around the corner, creating a bit of swell that keeps you aligned.

Poonta Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: Tucked just around the corner of the small port, this anchorage provides excellent protection from northerly winds, including north, northwest, and northeast. The sandy bottom offers good holding. However, be prepared for plenty of music, as you’ll be anchored right in front of a beach club.

Paralia Chrisi Akti

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This large cove is a true haven from the Meltem! The well-maintained environment and turquoise waters, thanks to the sandy bottom, create a truly picturesque setting. The sand provides excellent anchor holding, even in strong winds.

Trionis Island

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a perfect spot for a midday break, offering turquoise waters and a small sandy beach. Just be aware that it’s a popular spot for birds, so expect a bit of avian company!

Paralia Lolantonis

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage offers decent protection from the Meltemi, with a depth of 3 meters.

Tripiti Beach 2

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a great spot to anchor! The sandy bottom provides good holding at 5 meters, and we felt perfectly safe anchored at around 17 knots. We had the place all to ourselves, and the water was absolutely beautiful.

Faraga Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a solid choice, especially on the western side where the sandy bottom offers good holding. It provides decent shelter from the Meltemi. We found the beach bar to be reasonably quiet and the party boat only lingered for an hour. We enjoyed landing on the eastern side of the beach, west of the rocks, but be sure to time your dinghy landing with the wave sets!

Piso Aliki Beach

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
This bay offers a tranquil escape with crystal-clear water. We anchored in 4 meters of sand in front of Thalassamou restaurant, which is good but a bit pricey. The bay is sheltered from the Meltemi, but northerly winds can bring gusts. However, with a secure anchor, there’s no need to worry. When there’s no wind, you might experience some annoying waves from passing fast boats, even though they’re quite far away. The fetch contributes to this.

Refmatonisi Island

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: We found the channel on the east side of the island to have a minimum depth of 4 meters. On our return trip, we took the channel on the west side, where the minimum depth was 4.3 meters.

Paralia Agia Irini

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a gem! We enjoyed the protection it offers, with a sandy bottom at 5 meters of depth. We had the bay all to ourselves, even with a southerly wind of 10 knots, which seems unusual for such a lovely spot. Just be sure to avoid anchoring too close to the beach, as the sand becomes rockier closer to shore.
