North East Anchorage

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a hidden gem, offering a peaceful escape from the wind, especially with southerly breezes. Just a short swim or dinghy ride west, you’ll discover a stunning grotto, a secret treasure waiting to be explored. The lack of crowds makes this a truly special spot for those seeking solitude and natural beauty.

Northern Anchorage

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: While the anchorage offers a tranquil escape from southerly winds, the seabed is primarily rocky with limited sandy areas close to shore. This makes it ideal for a day anchorage, enjoying the calm waters and stunning scenery, as long as the wind isn’t blowing from the north.

Panagia Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: The waters here are truly magical! Circumambulating the island by boat is an absolute must. With so many breathtaking spots to choose from for a swim, you’ll be spoilt for choice. This is an experience you won’t want to miss – it’s highly recommended!

Polyaigos Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This place is a dream come true, especially at this time of year! The combination of white cliffs and turquoise waters is simply breathtaking. While there are some hidden rocks not marked on the charts, the sandy bottom offers excellent holding. And for those seeking shelter from the north wind, this anchorage provides a perfect haven

Manolonisi Island

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage boasts beautiful waters with plenty of sand and excellent holding, making it a tempting spot for a stay. However, the downside is the constant stream of boats zipping past, creating a bit of a swell. And during peak charter season, the crowds can make it feel less serene.

Upper Myrsini Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a truly stunning anchorage with excellent holding in the sand and plenty of shelter. It’s a small bay, though, only big enough for 3-4 boats, so arriving early is key to securing the best spot.

Kato Myrsini Beach

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
This quiet bay is a perfect stopover for seeking shelter from strong northerly winds, especially those howling in at 25-30 knots. The sand offers excellent holding, so as long as you lay out enough chain, you’ll have a peaceful night’s sleep. It’s easy to get ashore for a stroll and stretch your legs, and there are some lovely caves and rock formations along the shoreline to explore.

Blue Bay

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
**CAUTION:** A significant rockfall occurred here on August, 2023, dropping massive rocks into the water near the northwestern cliff. The event happened while a boat was stern-tied in the middle of the bay, around 50 meters from the cliff, and debris even landed on deck over 60 meters away. Anyone under the cliff during this rockfall would have been in serious danger. This event underscores the importance of being aware of potential hazards and assessing the surroundings carefully before anchoring.

Paralia Poliegos

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a truly incredible anchorage. It’s a bit narrow, but the sandy bottom provides excellent holding. We dropped anchor at the stern, which allowed us to get closer to the shore without worrying about rocks. The water is crystal clear, and we had the whole bay to ourselves – a real dream come true! It’s quickly become one of our favorite spots.

East South Anchorage

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is all about the dramatic scenery – the cliffs are truly impressive, and the sunsets and sunrises are unforgettable. I was lucky to have ideal weather for my overnight stay. It’s worth noting that there is no access to land here.
