Chios Marina

Navigating the entrance requires caution due to submerged rocks near the red light. To avoid them, stay close to the green light when entering. The east pier can accommodate about 15 boats, although the rest of the space is occupied by local or abandoned vessels.

Ormos Lo

This is what sailors experienced: This spot offers excellent holding in 7 meters of sand. While exposed to wind and waves, it’s well worth a visit during mild weather, offering crystal-clear waters for swimming and exploring.

Tholos Boatyard

This is what sailors experienced: This boatyard is known for its helpful and friendly staff, making it a great option for DIY boat work. While they do not offer extensive external services, they’re happy to assist with basic needs. Fuel requires advance ordering with a 100l minimum. Space is limited to about 5 temporary berths, so you’ll need to take your boat out if you plan to stay long-term. There are also some buoys for anchoring available, which are useful for waiting to be taken out of the water.

Sykiada Bay

Lagkadas Quay

North East Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced: This is a small, wild, and isolated spot. While the beach is charming, it’s unfortunately littered with plastic waste washed ashore by the sea. You’ll find a sandy bottom at 7 meters depth.

Taxiarchi Babaka Beach

This is what sailors experienced: This is a great spot to enjoy a swim and relax. It’s also suitable for overnight stays in good conditions, as long as the Meltemi wind isn’t blowing. The bottom is a mix of sand, rocks, and seaweed, so it’s important to find the right spot for your anchor.

Paralia Kardamila

This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage, and the entire bay, offers surprisingly good protection from moderate Meltemi winds. The swell that enters the bay is significantly reduced by the time you reach this spot, which is quite remarkable. There are plenty of sandy spots, not too close to the beach, where you can anchor. At night, you might experience light catabatic winds from the south, even if the winds are northerly during the day.

Port of Kardamyla
