We were lucky enough to snag a spot alongside the covered area at the entrance of the port. This is usually off-limits, but the harbour master was kind enough to grant us a one-night stay.

We anchored in the middle of the bay, in 3.5m of depth. We set our anchor deep, following the rule of 7:1, but a strong northeasterly swell and accompanying wind came up that evening and dragged us loose. We had to scramble to the sandier anchorage further west, which was becoming overcrowded and a bit of a trap. It seems the mud here was simply too soft to hold our anchor properly. We had to chase after our boat, with another boat from our group close behind, while all the other boats further northeast in the anchorage held their ground. Be warned: this bay can be tricky in strong winds!
