Paralia Makriammos Paradisos

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: Despite arriving with a brisk 15 knot southerly wind, we found ourselves unexpectedly exposed to a 10 knot east-northeast wind funneling around the cliff. Fortunately, we anchored in a superb spot with 5 meters of good sand and a generous 30m of chain. The location is truly magnificent, with a stunning pine-covered cliff as a backdrop.

Makriammos Paradisos South Bay

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This spot, tucked beneath towering cliffs, offers shelter from southern winds. You’ll find excellent holding in 10-12m of sand, with the water so clear you can actually see your anchor touch the bottom. It’s a truly magical location.

Aliki Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: A peaceful haven in May, enjoying its tranquility and beauty. The beach boasts excellent tavernas, and right next door, an archaeological zone with the ancient marble quarry. We anchored in 5m of water with a generous 30m of chain, finding excellent holding in the sandy bottom. The turquoise waters and the stunning ruins create a truly magical setting. It’s a very safe and picturesque spot.

Thymonia Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is a great spot, well protected from the elements. The seabed is sandy with excellent holding, making it a reliable and comfortable place to drop anchor.

Livadi Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage offers plenty of space to drop anchor in a sandy bottom. While there is some swell rolling in from the northeast, the best protection is found in the eastern corner, in front of the small beach. Large areas of seaweed are present, which generally translates to calmer waters. he depth near the swimming buoys is around 10m.

Virgin Island

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This cove is absolutely breathtaking, with crystal clear water and a pristine seabed. However, space is limited, with room for only one boat in the deepest part. The bottom is mostly rocky with very little sand.

Paralia Salonikios

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a truly superb anchorage, facing a delightful beach with umbrellas, yet maintaining a calm, family-friendly atmosphere. On the cliffs above, you’ll find clean and respectful wilderness camping areas. We anchored in 6m of sand & rock, though our anchor didn’t sink deeply. The anchorage provides excellent protection from winds coming from north to east-northeast.

Paralia Psili Ammos

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a good anchorage, particularly for north and east winds. The sandy patches are easy to spot in sunny weather, and we anchored in 5.5m of water. While there are some rocks starting at the 5m line, they’re not dangerous.

Notos Beach Southern Bay

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This gorgeous anchorage, known as Notos Beach, is named after the town of Notos. It’s a lovely, wide bay, stretching roughly 300m, with excellent sand holding. The depth is around 5m, about 50-60m from the beach.

Paralia Medalia

Anchorage

This is what sailors experienced:
This small anchorage offers a good alternative to the harbour when northerly winds are blowing. It has a sandy bottom and enough space for two or three boats.

Tripiti Cave

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a truly magical spot with a captivating feature – a cave you can swim through to reach the beach on the other side!

Kefalonis Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This bay is a perfect spot for swimming and relaxing during the day. While it’s not ideal for overnight stays, it offers a tranquil retreat with a small, secluded sandy/stony beach that’s not accessible from the road, making it peaceful even when the occasional tour boat visits. The crystal clear water and good anchor holding make it a delightful spot. And for those who love exploring, there are little caves on either side to discover while snorkeling.

Fari Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This anchorage is prone to rolling, even in calm weather, so be prepared for some movement. Anchor further out from the beach in the area around 12m where you’ll find sand. Closer to the shore, the bottom is more rocky and flat, which can cause your anchor or chain to become jammed.

Skala Maries

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: There’s a single spot available at the end of the quay, right where it’s marked on the app, with a depth of 2.5-3m. It’s surrounded by charming tavernas and a beautiful beach, making it a prime location. However, fishing boats also use this area, so it can get crowded at times.

Palantanes Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a lively spot, with room for a couple of yachts in about 5m of sand, just outside a small inflatable water park.
Port

This is what sailors experienced:
This is a pleasant port, although it lacks water and electricity. The small village has a few restaurants and bars, and there’s a sandy beach on either side of the harbour.

Rachoni Port

Port

This is what sailors experienced:
No Services

Northernmost Ooint

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a beautiful and peaceful anchorage with sandy bottom and good holding. However, there’s a strong south current that can make the stay uncomfortable when combined with waves. Be aware of underwater cables.

La Scala Beach West bay

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a lovely, protected anchorage perfect for swimming and relaxing. There’s a beach with an abandoned taverna, adding to the charm. Just remember to avoid anchoring in the designated swimming area.

Perfect for swimming & relaxing.

Nisteri Beach

Anchorage
This is what sailors experienced: This is a great anchorage for swimming, with a sandy bottom and a relaxed, family-friendly sandy beach. There’s also a delicious taverna nearby. Just be sure to avoid anchoring in the middle of the designated swimming area. There’s a pier with shallow water, mainly for dropping off and launching dinghies.
