So, grab your sunscreen, channel your inner hero, and batten down the hatches! Our epic journey through the Sporades is about to begin!

Day 1: Volos – Trikeri Island

(18 Nm)

Set sail from Volos, a port city watched over by Mount Pelion, legendary home of the centaurs (half-man, half-horse – mind your toes!). Our first stop is Trikeri, a tranquil island where you can appease Poseidon, the grumpy god of the sea, with fresh offerings (bread and wine usually work) before exploring hidden coves and charming tavernas.
Skipper’s Tip:
Keep an eye out for dolphins! They’re known to escort boats in these waters.
Beachcomber’s Bliss:
The beaches of Alogonisi and Myrsini beckon with crystal-clear turquoise waters, perfect for a swim fit for a nymph.

Day 2: Trikeri – Neo Klima, Skopelos

(32 Nm)

Today, we journey towards Skopelos Island, reputed to be the castaway haven of Telemachus, Odysseus’s son. In Neo Klima, a picturesque harbour town, you might encounter the playful spirit of Philoctetes, the archer cursed with a foul-smelling wound (keep your distance!). But fret not, the tavernas lining the harbour offer plenty of ambrosia (the food of the gods) to overpower any unpleasant aromas.
Skipper’s Tip:
The narrow passage between Tsougkria Island and Skopelos can get choppy. Patience, my dear Odysseus!
Landlubber’s Delight:
Hike to the clifftop ruins of Skopelos Castle for panoramic views and a chance to channel your inner Athena, goddess of wisdom and strategy.

Day 3: Skopelos – Tzortzi Bay, Alonnisos

(18 Nm)

We set course for Alonnisos Greece, a haven for the endangered Mediterranean monk seal – mythical creatures guarded by Poseidon himself. In Tzortzi Bay, a secluded paradise, you might just hear the whispers of nymphs frolicking amongst the olive groves.
Skipper’s Tip:
The approach to Tzortzi Bay can be tricky. Consider hiring a local guide, or channel your inner Theseus and navigate the labyrinthine coves with care.
Mermaid Moment:
Rent a kayak and explore the nearby islets teeming with colorful marine life. You never know, you might encounter a real mermaid (but keep it a secret from Poseidon’s wife, Amphitrite!).

Day 4: Alonnisos, Tzortzi Bay – Patitiri

(1 Nm)

A short hop takes us to Patitiri, the charming main port of Alonnisos. Here, you can barter for treasures (souvenirs) fit for a king and indulge in fresh seafood caught by Poseidon’s finest fishermen.
Skipper’s Tip:
Fuel up in Patitiri before venturing further. Remember, a happy boat is a well-fueled boat!
Night Owl’s Nirvana:
Patitiri comes alive at night with lively tavernas and bars. Mingle with the locals, sip on some local wine (the nectar of the gods!), and hear tales of daring adventures on the Aegean.

Day 5: Alonissos – Kyra Panagia Island

(14 NM + 7 NM detour)

Today, we embark on a mini-adventure to the uninhabited islet of Kyra Panagia. Legend whispers of hidden coves where sirens once lured sailors to their doom. But fear not, with your trusty crew and these mythical tales as warnings, you’ll be safe to explore the island’s pristine beauty.
Skipper’s Tip:
The detour to Kyra Panagia adds some nautical miles, but the secluded beaches are worth it (just keep an ear out for those alluring songs!).
History Buff’s Haven:
Alonnisos is a National Marine Park. Visit the Alonnisos Marine Park Information Centre to learn about the island’s protected wildlife and its role in Greek mythology.

Day 6: Planet Bay – Panormos Bay, Skopelos

(32 Nm)

We retrace our steps towards Skopelos, anchoring in the idyllic Planet Bay. This secluded haven is rumored to be a favorite haunt of Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Keep your eyes peeled for couples canoodling on the beach – after all, who can resist the allure of the Aegean?
Skipper’s Tip:
Planet Bay can get crowded during peak season. Consider arriving early to secure your spot in paradise.
Nature Enthusiast’s Escape: Hike through the fragrant pine forests of Skopelos for breathtaking views and a chance to spot some rare bird species.

Day 7: Panormos – Volos

(32 Nm)

With a heavy heart (or perhaps a belly full of delicious Greek food!), we set sail back to Volos. As we cruise along the coast, keep an eye out for Poseidon, perhaps he’ll offer a parting wave (or a playful trident toss… but hopefully not!).
Skipper’s Tip: The winds can pick up on this leg of the journey. Reef the sails if necessary and enjoy a relaxing downwind sail back to port.
Souvenir Sleuth’s Paradise:
Spend your last afternoon in Volos browsing the charming shops and markets for unique souvenirs to remember your epic adventure. From handcrafted jewelry to local delicacies, there’s something for everyone.
Farewell Feast:
Gather your crew for a final celebratory dinner at a traditional taverna. Raise a glass of ouzo (Greek firewater) to the gods, the beautiful islands, and the memories you’ve made.

Alternative Itinerary: Day 6

Feeling a bit adventurous? Here’s a bonus stop you can add to your trip:

Instead of Planet Bay, sail to Kastri on Skopelos (10 NM). This small harbour town boasts a charming harbour and a 13th-century castle perched on a hilltop. Legend has it that the castle was once a pirate hideout – shiver me timbers!

This itinerary offers just a taste of the magic that awaits you in the Sporades. So set sail, unleash your inner Odysseus, and prepare for an unforgettable adventure!
